WHAT TO EXPECT
At your initial appointment you will be seen by a vascular specialist who will assess your veins and address your circulatory system concerns. The vascular specialist will then have a vascular technologist perform a non-invasive venous ultrasound to evaluate your legs. The technologist essentially creates a map of your veins for your specialist to view. This allows your specialist to develop a custom treatment plan to address your unique vein problems. Your specialist will then discuss your options with you. You may also watch a short informative video about the various treatments that our facility offers. Please keep in mind that your initial appointment may take up to two hours. On the day of your procedure, you will arrive ½ hour to an hour before your scheduled procedure time. Our staff will let you know at what time you should arrive. The specialist or a technologist may mark the course of your vein on your skin with a marker prior to your procedure. The procedure itself usually takes about an hour. Remember, you will need someone to drive you home from your procedure. One week following your procedure, you will return to the office for a follow-up appointment. This visit will include a very brief ultrasound. The specialist will discuss the ultrasound findings and will answer any questions you might have. |
